The Arcadian Space-Pirate Horde

Departing from the structured military setting of Universal Century 3000, through popular vote of the players, Universal Century EX will tell the tale of Orbital-space privateers in the post war reconstruction. Raiding the trans-colonial spaceways and outlying colonies from the darkness of the secret asteroid base in the.

In this new age of Universal Century, the rule of law is far more tenuous the farther you get from the Earth. With alt-cults overtaking colonies and new social-philosophies shaping the course of history. The time is ripe for freebooting privateers to flourish and grow fat on the riches of the new, post-conflict prosperity.

Like the great pirate ships of old the StarCruisers of UCEX are only as great as the measure of their crew. The band of savage and ruthless killers that drive these vessels are the true heart and soul. As such in this campaign the A.P. Team, so well funded and equipped by the largess of the military is replaced by the hardscrabble, catch as catch can band of raiders fighting for every bolt and bullet they can take. Replacing the Roles of the AP Team we now have these essential crew:

Captain/Commander: As the name implies, this is the new "Team Leader". The Role is the same as the old UC3K role but with less support and backup. They are based on the Cop or Solo role from the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook.

Master at Arms: the re-tooled Assault Trooper of UCEX. This is a hard-fighting, weapons expert and rapid-assault specialist. often a Full Conversion Cyborg or Boomer. Usually an accomplished LandMate pilot with knowledge of vehicular weapons. Thay are based on the SOLO role from the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook.

Raider: taking the place of the old Infantry role from UC3K. The raiders make up the bulk of the pirate crew. All have some engineering skills as well, a holdover from the original days of space colonization and can help to repair ship, landmate or mech damage. They are based on the NOMAD role from the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook.

Combat Engineer/Technical Officer: Running a non-corporate/government supported space-vessel is a constant battle for new parts and rigged systems. The ability to scavenge and jury rig complex technological parts is key in this role. It is often the purview of NPCs. They are based on the TECHIE Role from the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook.

Black Marketeer/3rd man: Once you've stolen tons of shipping containers full of loot. You've got to have the contacts and fences to get rid of it for money. Pirating is, after all, about the money. This is a key position aboard a freemerchant vessel of the privateering sort. Which pulls a lot of wieght among the crew. They are based on the FIXER role form the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook.

MechaJock: Still the same, just more vicous and collateral damage-prone. Also an expert LandMate pilot and often an aerospace fighter pilot too. This is a feared and respected rogue of the Orbital Republic.

Navigator/Pilot: The reincarnation of the Pilot role of UC3K. Think it's easy not to get lost in space? WRONG-O!!! Once outside of the well-bouyed transit lanes of the Earth Sphere you can wind up very innacurately placed vis-a-vis your destination. The ship's navigator is always also an aerospace fighterjock and usually has skill in one or two ther vehicles as well. If anything happens to this guy, the lives of everyone in the ships crew can be in question. Therefore this position is often occupied by NPCs.

The Arcadian Space-Pirate Horde, so-named for the Privateer-Class vessel "Arcadia" they command raid the outlands of the Earth Sphere from their secret asteroid base. Of late they have gained a reputation after attacking their 3rd vessel. Orbital Republic authorities have been on the hunt for this band of late and the pressure is on. Thus far the Rangers have no names of individual pirates to go on but with each escalating attack the likelihood of involving ESPer assistance to locate them or enlisting the aid of Commander Dunes' fearsome Einherjar Fleet becomes more possible.

At the start of the campaign the NPC members of the Arcadian Horde are:
Lieutenant William Gorman, the First Mate of the Arcadia
Sergeant Al Apone, the senior grunt, formerly of the NEOMF.
Corporal Dwayne Hicks, first team’s squad leader
